: lots of fuel at shifts

a lil guidance please. I changed some tables on a tune and put it in truck, changed quite a few actually.

When I drive it with DSP off, it's fine until the truck goes to shift, and it's like a lot of fuel is added right at the time to shift and shift is pretty harsh and dumps out smoke. I'm thinking it's one of the below: (but also thinking tranny may learn and get better)

G0901 max.torque front half shaft
G0902 " front prop shaft
G0903 " rear prop shaft
G0904 " rear axle
G0905 " transfer case
G0909 brake torque limit
B0744 Torque lim. inj. quant.
B1105 Base torque
B0724 tranny rpm set to disable
I thought is was a "G" table, but then it should do it in DSP2 also? anyone have any ideas?
I change one by one, but just figured someone might know the culprit(other than myself)
Thanks.

B1105 Base torque? gonna try that one first

Is this at WOT??? Sounds to me like B0744..Did we go to high???

not at WOT around 30-40% throttle, not 0744 or 1105, logged it and mbpw ramps up real quick when it does it. I don't remember changing that table. I smoothed out the throttle base though.

not any of the G tables

:o: would it do this if I reset the taps? I forgot I done that when I flashed, but everything else I've changed and same. Gonna put previous tune in and see if it is different. THing is is that is blows out smoke when it does it like it has alot of fuel through each shift. If changing to previous tune doesn't work then I'm stumped unless it's the tap reset.:o: no codes set other than the normal

well changing back to previous tune did it, there were a few other tables that were modified as well(listed below) I changed 1105 back to previous and tried it, 0744 and tried it, 0724 and tried it, all the G tables at once and tried it, B0751 with 0752,0728 and 0730 at one time and tried it. I never tried G0909 or A0102(didn't do it in DSP mode) or B0747 which I upped to 145 for the hell of it.

All tables originally modified that somewhere within caused the problem:

G0901 max.torque front half shaft
G0902 " front prop shaft
G0903 " rear prop shaft
G0904 " rear axle
G0905 " transfer case
G0909 brake torque limit
B0744 Torque lim. inj. quant.
B1105 Base torque
B0724 tranny rpm set to disable
A0102 DSP2 throttle base
B0751 max injected fuel quan. EGR off
b0752 " EGR on
b0728 " WARM
b0730 " cold/warm
b0747 max fuel quan. vs speed

msut have been 1105 AND 0744, maybe even 0747? needed to be changed back at the same time, rather than one at a time??

Ahah! Must have been. seems alot like what's going on in this thread....
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126262

I had set 1105 WAY high, and in turn 0744 was puttin in lots of fuel(because I upped it too) when it was in "torque management"
So if I'm right the ECM read B1105 when it was about to shift because of entering torque management and read a BIG number, in turn looked that number up on B0744 and told the ECM how much fuel mm3 to inject which was too high as well.
I think I've caught on, someone clarify if I'm right?

Got lots of posts in this one, but man it's fun to learn, especially when I can figure it out or see it for myself!!!
EFILive rocks!

Only other question is why did the ECM enter torque management when I was only part throttle, just something it will always do? to protect the tranny. Any way to shut it off or do you just have to work around the tables? figure that's probably best anyway, huh?

I'll give it a shot...B0727, 0744 and 1105 are related...It's always gonna have some management...For daily driving, I only change the bottom 2 rows of 0744 and 1105...When racing, I make further adjustments...My amatuer tuning skills have showed me that making big changes to the middle or lower areas of those tables cause horrible part-throttle characteristics...Now, only small steps...

What are you running in the bottom cells of B1105?
