Ok, I took my truck into the stealer to see what was up with my SES being on. The service tech told me that the ECM threw a false code. :confuzeld So.. I asked what that meant. They said it was because I had been plugging in my truck when it has been warmer than 0 degrees outside. I looked at them puzzled and asked, ok so whats the fix? I know alot of guys that plug in when the temps are 30 or less and they dont get codes. So what gives? They told me that it is a common problem and that they have a replacement cord with a thermostat built in so it will not turn the block heater on until it is below 0 degrees outside. So I asked how much is that thing... $100.00. Ya right, I will do it manually thanks!

Anyone else have this happen? Just curious, have never seen it discussed in that manner here before.

I have heard that it would throw a code if you plugged it in when it was too warm, but you are the 1st one I have heard it actually happening to. I thought it was higher than 0 when it was supposed to happen though.
