It's been discussed, but does anyone know where they can be had, and for how much? Is there a common tool substitute, perhaps a certain type of gear puller? I'm worried about constantly swapping my H2's with stockers for towing, and I'm thinking about trying different rim/tire combos, so I may be swapping out even more. Don't want to have a bolt failure as has happened to others.

I believe someone mentioned using a gear puller? Sounds feasible.

Has anyone seen or heard of these?

Definitely, but if you want to be safer, strap it before you remove the key in case it slips. There is a tool for unloading, just do a search in all forums for torsion unloader, you'll find it.

I took a 2 jaw gear puller and cut a U out of 3/8 plate big enough to fit over the torsion bar crossmember and drilled 2 holes in it. I remove the arms from my puller. Then I put the metal U over the crossmember and bolt the gear puller to it. No chance it can slip loose from the crossmeber now...

If you get a chance post a pic of that setup, sounds like something I'll try.

the bolt on the actual tool is uch heavier duty than the 5 ton gear puller I have. well worth the investment

I used a 7 ton gear puller from sears, I would be afraid to use anything less
