Does anyone know of an aftermarket cooling system filter setup for the Duramax? I own 5 semis, and all of them have coolant filters on them. It only makes since to filter your coolant i would think! I would also imagine that the Dca levels would need an adjustment after so many miles. Any thoughts on this would greatly be appreciated! BTW great website, love it, its the best out there, my first post but been a member for a while.

coolant filters came around because wet sleeve engines were expierencing "cavitation erosion " of the sleeves. wet sleeves vibrate causing nanno size air bubbles to implode against the ccolant side of sleeve thus eroding the sleeve. the filters conditioned the coolant to minimize the creation of bubbles.we used to see all the time in wet sleeve farm tractor engines with out the filter. it was an option.the thrust side of the sleeve is where it is most noticeable.parent bores don't don't vibrate like wt sleeves.IH first learned about it with their 300-400 series engines.water quality is also a factor. 05 sierra 3500 4wd srw reg cab no mods work truck package

Thank you for the responses, just figured i would throw it out there with the filter setup. I have seen alot of problems with the dexcool "deathcool" if you will, i have a family member that is a certified master tech and he has seen alot of problems with this antifreeze.
