MBRP has the cat delete pipes, heck I have an LB7 (no cat) front pipe laying around that will bolt right up if you want to pay shipping. Installing a cat delete will throw a code in time, but you can get a false code eliminator to take care of that problem. You can get them from a few vendors here or at PPE in so.cal. It is complety safe for the motor and will eliminate a hundred degrees of EGT's or so in the process. All the Cat is is a big soot trap and a huge restriction. Turbo motors do not need backpressure, even if the guy at the exhaust shop say's they do. If you don't install a egr false code eliminator, you can clear the codes with a programmer or code scanner, as they won't pop up immediately after the install. FYI, P0401 is the most common code you will see.

My cat is out of bag...and cannot find it... Am kind of worried about emission tests in the future. I live in Canyon County Idaho - Truck had tongue hanging out of mouth before deletion.

Best thing to do is get a direct replacement like what MBRP makes. This way you can keep your stock cat and put it back in for testing if need be. Some trucks get codes, others dont. If you do you will need a fingerstick to get rid of them.

I dont think you could have one made for as inexpensive as the MBRP cat deletes cost......

You better save your kitty in case they decide to do emission testing, Pa is starting this year:(

Another thing to consider is the connection between the cat delete pipe and the rest of the exhaust. If you clamp it with the old style u-bolt clamps you may play he11 getting it apart later. You can buy an inexpensive (around $8) band clamp at your local Napa that will prevent the pipes from "locking together." It would take me longer to get the cat out of storage and pull the tools together than it would to actually swap it.
Oh, and the sound is awesome :)

lets say the truck throws a code... how can i tell will the check engine light come on?

Sometimes it will throw a code, and sometimes it will not. I can set mine off by towing my trailer easily, but in town I get the silent P0401 on the Edge DTC reader and that's it, rarely ever do I get a MIL with in town driving. A finger stick/code blocker will take care of this.

Sorry, but what is a MIL? I just ordered a 4' turbo back MBRP but haven't bought the Fingers Stick yet. I have a CA truck and I am pretty sure that I will set a code right away. What effect will this have on the truck (CEL)? Is it just having the annoying light on or will it cause the truck to run funny as well?

I looked around and can't find anything about PA starting diesel emissions testing. What's up?
