the motor has been good on the 6.5 so far but lil electrical gremlins are out to get me, last night when i went to leave a friends house, i was running my highbeams on the Rual route rd and went to switch to lows when i hit the highway, no lows, no running lights just darkness plus my markers, the highs still work so i could make it home, the headlight switch is fairly new(about 6 months) and it was a acdelco replacement unit, i tried playing with the switch on the coloum w/ no luck any ideas? also im only getting about 0-1 psi of boost while cruising at 120 kph, itll spike up to 10-15 when im working it but nothing when cruising, w/o boost my egt is about 625F on cruise at 120kph on flat highway.

Hi-lo relay and ckt breaker in the fuse box for the headlites.

The Boost\EGT's appears normal, if blue LED-equipped - the red ones indicate dangerous levels, tho............

the blue LED's are just for background instead of clear for white, it wont change to red, i thought these trucks would cruise with 5-6 psi when moving 110+ kph w/o working the motor for more effiency, our dodge work truck runs about 10-11 on the highway and tacks 27 on load so as i said just curious bout the boost,
the hi-lo relay and ckt breaker are? are they in the under hood fuse panel. what do you mean by ckt breaker, im familar with relays and fuses but not breakers on vehicles
thanks

Headlite power is via ckt brkr, which will reset from overload - fuse just blows, then yer SOL on a dark road to nowhere.

Check the label inside the fuse box cover for details

The head light switch went bad on my truck after I first got it and it did the same thing. That would be the first thing I check it was only $15.00 at advance auto parts. Its would be a good idea to replace it any way before it does go bad. Just a thought.

Re Head lites etc
Had a similar problem.Seems to have resolved itself after running an extra grnd wire to fire wall to remedy a sometimes failing w wiper system.

1)hey Diesel T, where did you run the ground wire from? from the negative post to the firewall? thanks for all the help guys

2)So the crk breakers are w/ the fuses in the dash?i was looking for a hi-lo relay but couldnt find SFA. WTF is it located? i looked under hood and didnt see any relays listed/dedicated to lights. thanks

RE ground wire
Thats right. From Neg post to a self tapping screw on fire wall & on to a bolt head on wiper motor case.Pretty small wire but was only concerned with getting ground to wiper motor at the time.Probably should have & still should clean up braided? fire wall ground wire.
