Hey Guys,

Ok got me a few questions...

Should I run Shell Rotella regular or synthetic? Is it worth the extra$$$?(also how many gallons)

Whats prolly the best filter?Wix?Napa?Fram?

Also on the rear end...is the mobil 1 good?or how about royal purple?or maybe valvoline?(all sythetic)and how many quarts?By the way mine has the locker..

And lastly....whats a tranny filter cost?roughly?(not the spin on)

Thanks Guys..Oh and mine has 95K miles...shoudl i change the coolant?

P.s. sorry to sound dumb..but why don't the light duty diesels have coolant filters like, lets say a Mack or Cat?

I use rotella syn, works fine for me, but prob. switch to mobil truck and suv, capacity in gallons is 2.5 I would stay away from the fram filter.

I used to run mobile 1 in my axle, after about 3000 miles I developed a nasty vibration while backing up and turning, I then put grape juice back in and the vibes quit, not sure if the mobile 1 was to blame since there are many people here that run it successfully.

I run mobil 1 in the rears and fronts since new with no problems, 28k on the ticker.

I would run delco filters or maybe wix(actually give Eric a shout, dmaxallitech and he will set you up with what you need)

The pan filter can be gotten from eric but the allison manual says only change it at rebuild time. Change your spin though. Every oil change or every other depending on your oil change intervall. Change it at least every 10k though.

Rotella t isnt really a full synthetic. its not a bad oil by any means its just not a full synthetic.

Check out the regular matinence thread thats sticky. or what ever the hell its called.....

Doing a coolant flush would be a good idea IMO.

if you don't change the tranny filter..then how do you change the tranny fluid?Just drain pan and refill?
