Have you changed your fuel filter since you bought it?

codes could be from pluging it in , shouldn't be a problum tho,, you don't need to plug it in unless its below 0'f,,ive been in 0-10 deg weather and this thing starts just fine, you might have gotten a bad load of fuel and have a pluged fuel filter

Same thing hapenned to mine a couple of days ago while towing my boat.
CEL came on and motor would not go past 2k rpm.

That night, I checked on here under "limp mode" and saw that more often than not it was a clogged fuel filter.
I decided to try a new filter before I headed over to the dealer.

VOILA!!!! Problem solved.

You guys are the greatest.

Kinda sounds like what mine did last week. Plugged it in and since it wasn't cold enough. Sensors all saw different numbers so it didn't want to run right. Went to dealer and got some fancy new cord with a t-stat so it only comes on below -7*C.

ok if i change the filter will the lite go out on my dash or i have to go and get it deprogramed

The CEL wont go out by just changing the fuel filter even if that is it least until the conditions for clearing the codes are meet which usually takes awhile. Sounds like you caused it by plugging it in though.

Currently if you have a warrenty it should be covered, however in the morning I will find the receipt and post the number. Just got home from work and going to bed. :D

Click on User CP at the top RH corner of your screen
Click on "Edit Signature" under Settings & Options on the LH side
Type in a detailed description of your truck including any Mods you have done. (You may want to look at another member's signature to get an idea on what to put down)This will help us figure out how to help you.

BTW, the Fuel Filter Life shown on the DIC only counts the number of miles since the fuel filter was last changed. In your case, since the truck was built. The 0% Life will occur around 15,000 miles from the time it was last replaced. The DIC does NOT determine how plugged the filter might be, It is only a GUESTIMATE based on miles.

Your CEL may have been caused by plugging the block heater when outside temp was above 0 deg F. You might need to get a computer reflash by your dealer to get the latest CALs.

Gauges alone should not cause any problems with warranty, unless you F'd-Up something else while intalling them.

That could be the problem. :D Maybe he had been to the bar and accidently got a beer can or bottle under the go pedal. Or maybe he was impaired so bad, that he only thought it was only going that slow. I heard of a local fool one time that was drunk driving and hit a road sign in the median and in the process got a beer bottle under the gas pedal. He could only press the gas pedal down so far ( at times grabbing the wheel standing up on it) and his top speed was only about 20 MPH (thank God that could have been what saved him). He really thought he had demolished his car but the next morning at his house he discovered a beer bottle under the gas pedal.

Well I lied about posting the part number. I can't seem to find the work order for my truck when it was in.. Any dealer can check it for you.
