Went to start the truck today and it just clicked like the battery was dead but all the needles on my instrument cluster were fluttering all over. Then on the display it said service brake system. Shut it off tried to start again and same thing this time the display said service air bag system. Shut key off removed edge and started up . just was wondering has anyone else had this problem. I have also had the edge shut down going down the road problem. Now its in the mail to edge. thanks for any replies

truck is still not starting with the edge removed. turn the key to try to start it just clicks. weird thing is when i am trying to start and it makes the clicking the lights are flashing like strobes. now its time to look at the batteries or the altenator i guess. if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciatte them.

First, chk the batt terms for stripping/tightness. Dealers like to strip them ~ Second rechrg the batts leaving the edge disconnected. Me thinks the edge tends to drain the batts ~ I could be wrong but w/their latest beta chnging the comm protocol to the tude, the starter seems stronger etc. I would keep a quizzical eye on the juice ~

Mine had similar symptoms a while back and when it went to the dealer, an intermitant short was found in the starter.

I had a similar experience last night after installing an EVO. The truck had not been run in the last 3 days and I had cycled the key on/glow plugs a few times before trying to start. When I was finished with the EVO install all I got was clicking, jumped the truck and it ran fine, battery voltage was 14.5. Started this morning at 20 degrees, no problem. Seemed strange until finding this thread, I did not even consider the EVO could have done it. I'll keep an eye on it but with 8 month old batteries it seems a little drastic that they went that low.

My batteries have been fine now. No more problems so maybe I ran them low with the cycling of the glow plugs. Love the EVO unit, power is nice but I really like the gauge benefit.

I've been unable to start mine now about 4 times. Just clicks but bright lights etc.... Once completely dead. I think the batterys are weak, need to go see the dealer.
The truck doesn't seem to have much reserve to crank it over.
