I need a list of venders who have aftermarket bumpers and how much they are. I have found a few but need the pool of info from this place so I can make a call. Pics of what you have and likes/dislikes about it. thanks for the info.

do you want front or rear?

my front is a ranch hand look alike. they company went under so you wouldnt be able to get it. but its just as good of quality as the ranch hand which is a great bumper. they are about $600 for a regular one. this is a great bumper. i hit a cavalier doing 55mph a few years ago and it only dented my bumper a little. i still have that bumper on my truck. it is hard to tell the damage, you have to look very close to see it.

My rear bumper is a ranch hand and i like his one a lot too. both offer great pertection. and i got the one for $365 at the ranch hand store.

I have Tough Country front and rear. I like everything about them, and dislike nothing. You can google them; they are made in El Campo, Texas.

Whatever you get, I suggest you LineX them prior to install. Much better lasting finish than powdercoat/paint. May be initially more expensive, but will certainly be less expensive long term, if you are the type that keeps your stuff in decent condition.

HoustonDMax, a few questions if you don't mind:

1) How much did the front and rear replacement bumpers set you back - individual prices please?
2) What was the cost to LineX them?
3) How does the replacment rear affect the factory receiver, i.e. does it have to be removed? can you still use it? If it has to be removed or is no longer useable, can the bumper be used to tow?

I like the looks of the Tough Country the best, but cannot seem to hammer down a cost, which is a big factor in my decision between Tough Country and Ranch Hand. Thanks

Here's one for you - Frontier: http://www.frontier-gear.com/

Good bang for the buck. Lighter weight than Ranch Hand. Most are direct bolt-ons with no drilling (unlike Ranch Hand). They have more styles than what they show on their website. There's nothing wrong with Ranch Hand, but they are heavy and require drilling.

Here's some with white LINE-X (with Nason for fade resistance):

I will go dig up my receipts this weekend for cost. I can tell you right now that there was plenty of negotiating room from retailers. Buying them straight from Tough Country was list price only, which should be on the web site; I go through El Campo on a regular basis, so I just checked with them directly to see what they would do. They wanted to protect their retailers, which I can't blame them for. I bought them through a third party retailer, and talked him down.

I had them work LineX into the deal. Again, got to find my reciepts.

Factory receiver hitch removed. Bumper now used for towing. I remember at the time that it looked like with very little effort, I could have retained the factory hitch. Then I got to thinking that why did I need two back there; the bumper would hold just as much as the receiver. Besides, leaving the receiver back there would distract from the smooth lines of the bumper.

So these aftermarket rear bumpers have the same towing capacities as the oem hitch?

Found my receipts. Paid 1000 for the front, with foglight insets, a built in receiver hitch and LineX coating, installed, including tax. Paid $600 for the rear, LineX'd and installed, includng tax. Buying directly from Tough Country was in the $2k range, plus tax. Retailer I bought from started around $1800, plus tax and install fee. I bought these three years ago, so keep that in mind.

Expensive, but worth every penny in my mind. Not a single issue, and with the LineX, still look as good as the day I put them on.

The best part is, between these bumpers, the ability to smoke out lanes of traffic at will with my TTS set to Extreme, and my train horn, Houston traffic just gets the h&ll out of my way in a hurry :D :cool2: .

Heavier material and mounting, so I treat it that away ;) . I have not seen an actual manufactuer's claimed rating. I have pulled more from my bumper than I ever pulled from the receiver.

Check my garage for more pics..

Thunderstruck rear $375 + shipping www.tstruck.com (http://www.tstruck.com)
Retains factory receiver hitch, and receiver hitch mounts to the bumper like OEM.

I think the ranchhand rear is 1000 tongue and 10,000 capacity... So it is actually higher than stock
