I just took ownership of a Dmax with 45000 miles on it and was woundering what should be the frist thing that I look for if anything to go wrong with it. Got rid of my Ford powerstroke same year model and had no problems with it except that they keep breaking into it. If they would have stolen it that would have been fine, but they just keep breaking into it and tearing it up. Three time in six months at different places was to much. But anyway I just need to know what should I keep an eye out for if I just leave it stock. Any Help will nice.

The GM's are easy to break into as well. They go in through the lock cylinder, probably the same way they did on your ford. Personally I am a believer in aftermarket alarms. My thinking is that if they see that flashing light they will hopefully move onto the next (easier) target. I have always had an aftermarket alarm and I have never had a vehicle broken into.
First thing I would do is change all the fluids, engine oil & filter, transmission oil & filter, transfer case, diff's, fuel filter, etc. That way you know where you're at.
Good luck! You're gonna love it!

Thanks, sounds like a good place to start. Is there anyone else who has had a Ford and switched to a Dmax. And if so which do you prefer.

I believe you right about any kind of flashing LED. Thieves will look for vehicles that don't have them. Are you aware of any connection point to the OEM security system where I could pick +12v when security is on? I would like to turn on a flashing LED when locked using the key fob. Thanks.

Your radio has a security system that flashes a red LED light.

The guy was looking for a blinking red light, I just told him he may already have one.
Not all thieves are aware that the red light is "JUST" for the radio. Most crack heads and petty thieves that need the $$$ will see the light and move on............well hopefully.
The pro thieves aren't going to be stopped with the best aftermarket alarm if they really want it.
