Just wondering why a complete 03-04 gauge cluster wouldn't replace an 01-02? I know the 03-04 has the eletronic center at the bottom but if I don't care about it working or not, why wouldn't the gauges work? As long as the connector on the back is the same and wiring is the same, I would think everything would work...?

GM did a major change in the electrical system in 03. I am not sure how that applies specifically to the Cluster but I am quite sure that there would be some major wiring differences. I doubt that the plug is the same either.

Serial data instead of analog data now... I also will assume that they wouldn't be compatible.

You should be able to find another guage set from a 01 for little $$ out there somewhere.

Hmm. That's too bad. It just seems that for some odd reason all the gauge styles that I like are 03+. Will keep looking. Thought I'd ask.

Talk to Peanut, he put guages from a Escalade in his 01.

Yeah but the guages were from and 01 or 02 escalade.

Contact JP customs or Stylin Concepts. They both have gauge clusters that are complete replacements. They did change over and a '03 is NOT compatible with an '01 or '02. Also, if you change your cluster you better get your mileage transferred. That is big no-no to the dealerships. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Down.gif
