I just put my Juice/Attitude on tonight.

On the test drive I had what I might call a "turbo cough". Nothing really loud or extreme, just a little cough. Don't think I'm gonna get too concerned yet.

ive been getting the dam turbo bark since installing it - it has been getting better of late since i removed the cat, and modded my air intake and filter. theres a few things i believe that make the turbo bark: too much gas-not enought air, too much boost/turbo problem(new VVT turbo on LLY), or programming - it builds the boost up then gets overloaded and the air gets pushed back, upon hitting the turbo it almost reverses the turbo, hence the bark which flow through the exhaust - these are just my observations so far and i am in no way a tech on this but just my 2 centavos

You will know it when it happens. Is it actually a turbo bark? Can't say for sure.

I'm still getting it with the Edge LLY. Mostly on the 4-5 shift. My guess? Needs to defuel slightly slower. It is better than my first beta, which did it all the time.

Like Tbone said:

The exhaust turbine is being pushed really hard by the pressurized exhaust gases when running WOT on boost. When you lift the pedal sharply, no more hot gases are forcing the turbine to spin. But now you have the whole intake tract full of 30PSI compressed air. Normally the intake impeller is pressurizing this air, but without the turbine under load to keep it moving, it's free to release the pressurized air by trying to spin the impeller backwards.

The import guys have been using a Blow Off Valve (BOV) to stop this. When you lift the throttle, it releases the built up intake pressure through a port. PSSHHH!!!

Can turbo bark damage the turbo? I can't say.

i wouldnt run it too hard until shes good and warmed up, bad things can happen....not sure about the loud knock you hear though, where does it come from and whats the sound - the turbo bark will come from the turbo/exhaust port area and will sound like its coughing up a hairball

That loud knocking is coming from the left side it dose it when its cold and warm. It has acked like it's going to die then kick back in. Guess im just going have to put it in the shophttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif Can i take my juice and attitude out for about a week and can they tell somthings been in the truck or what should i do if they say you had a box in the truck? any one had this problem yet with there dealer?

Mark, if you take it in, pull the juice and attitude off and mention nothing of it to the dealer. If they ask, play stupid and act like you dont know what they are even talking about.

I have barked my turbo a lot of times. Almost every pull I bark my turbo, hard not to. My truck will also do it now that my trans is done on the 4-5 shift when lock up occurs. I have to be just at the right boost level for it to happen, moderate throttle. Heavy on the throttle and it wont do it, just holds the boost right through the shift, less throttle doesnt have enough boost to do it. LLY is going to be different though.

I had my F-250 2000 Ford do this while towing and it wiped out the turbo. The guys on the Ford site knew what the deal was with it and I have since forgotten, but if it's the same deal as with my Ford, I think the turbo vanes are stressed when this happens.
