Hi, Guys I'm new to the site and have just picked up a used Dmax. It is a 2003 CC 4x4 with 45000 miles on it. So far I love the truck but, it's at the shop right now for A/C work and leaking roof due to the other owner having a GPS unit on it and then taking it off. The leak is from were he had it installed. But my question is about the bumper. The Tech guy told me that the bumper may be stopping the air flow across the condenser which I guess could be the problem. Also, do you guys know if the bumper might be to heavy for the frontend? Any and all help would be helpful. Thanks

That has not been documented here. Our AC system sucks. But I do not think it is the bumper. Have them check the R134 levels. Our sytems holds 26 OZ of R134 but some people say there is a TSB out that says to lower the level to 20 or 22, I can not remember the lower level. It has also been documented here that some sytems were filled with too much oil straight from the factory. I recently had to replace on of my hoses because it failed and had to recharge the system. I used the R134 with an added chemical that said it would cool 18 degree cooler with this stuff (do not remember the bottle but I got it from AutoZone). It worked great and worked better than before.

Do not let them pull the bumper BS with you. Have them check it out and have them look up the TSB about the AC system that is out for our trucks.Edited by: BassinRVer
