Hi all, just wanted to say what a GREAT site for info. Especially for someone new to diesels and looking to buy very soon.


I had a question about the mirrors though. I am looking to get the GMC HD2500 4 door 4x4 SLT. I want it so I will be able pull a toy hauler. I have found ones that I like with options/colors etc but the problem is VERY few have the manufactures towing mirrors. (the ones that expand out while pulling a trailer)


Question is...IF I get one that doesnt have the expandable mirrors is it difficult to buy and install the factory ones? Or are there some good after market mirrors that will work well and look nice but still be electric?

you can get some take offs and put them on, then simple reprogramming will make them work.

I am getting some different type of mirrors for my 2004 2500HD Duramax. I have the expandable mirrors from the dealer I will sell. They are heated and have the lighted turn singal. Send me an email at ryanroper@cox.net.

Alot of people around here like the Schafenacker TTT mirrors. They do have a web site. I plan on purchasing a set myself. Do a search in the accesory forum. You will find alot of happy campers who have them. Another brand is CIPA. Also have a web site.

I have some on order with WJ Performance for the TTT mirrors. They should be here next week. I will post pics and comments after I install them.
