Came across this very informative site researching my new truck!! I am picking up an 04 this weekend and cannot wait. As my 99 Suburban (gas) approaches toublefree 170k. Love the suburban and have not decided whether to part with it yet. Was in the market for aq 1500HD gas but ran across a seemingly good deal. I decided to checkout the 2500 and these Dmax diesels. Very impressed so far. New to diesels but my cousin is a mechanic and knows them well. He found it and recommended we take a look. Glad he did.

Summit white/grey cloth to be used as a work vehicle(machine shop).

100,000 miles with 2061.2 hours.

Lot of miles but this thing drives amazingly well and looks new. A lot of vehicle for the price tag. Everything in great shape except fpr the sticking tachometer. Holds a constant 800rpm. Looking for a fix but have not found one yet. Suggestions welcomed.

If it's one thing i've seen alot about diesels is the mileage variances.
Being new to diesels myself (this is my first) when i hear 100k i think its nearing the end of its useful life.
Not so in these generally. 100k Gas is equal to 45K diesel it seems like if i had to guess a ratio.
You'll get alot of educated answers by people more familiar with the topic but until then, enjoy your new toy and dont put gas in it :)
