our 05 LLY is due to have the trans fluid changed. is there any advantages to using syntetic trans fluid? i really would love to get the temp down on it.

:thumb: May just be good advertising but I feel better with TranSynd in and I think the shifts are sharper. Just my view.

use trans synd allison fluid then you know you wont ahve a problem. these allys are special, use special clutch materials etc lets put in there the stuff allison wants , they are expensive and fluid is cheap in the long run.

X2, Its worth the money..... transynd is the best atf, Transynd has special additives, to help the clutches "BITE" down harder, and it will run a little cooler.

Transmission fluid change interval is longer, getting more miles on the fluid.

I run full synthetic in all my trucks, lower temps, should prolong the life, better cold weather starts, etc. It just makes sense if you plan on working the trucks hard and or keeping them a long time.

The only downsides are cost and availability.... But many upsides that make it worth the effort in my experience.

Most people will see the price, and  But!!!!!!! it worth it, TRANSYND is by far the best ATF there is, and also has a extended drain interval life. i have limped my tranny 2 times now. 1st time was w/ the stock gm fluid @ 56k miles, i switched to Transynd, @ 62k I limped about a month ago,@ 75k and my tranny held more power...longer in 5th than the first time i did it, and still get 0% lockup om my gauge. NOW im sure i have done damage, but im sure it was limited do to the transynd, and plan on driving/towing until she lets go. I can hit 5th lockup, and on 85hp, slowly lay into it till i hit my speed limiter, and it will hold it. Im a beleiver in transynd.

The home flush method changes out 98-99% of the fluid in the entire trans, convertor included.

For those of you out there running Transynd, what kind of colour changes are you getting in the fluid? I have 21K on my truck, I have Transynd and the fluid turns very dark and looks very dirty after only 5K miles:( . I have a Mike L. transmission cooler and a Allison deep pan to keep it cool. I live in Washington state so it definately is not getting too hot.:)
