I have major rust stains under my truck after sitting for a couple days with on and off rain. I also park in the same spot in the driveway after using it each time. This is the first i noticed it so it just started in the past couple days. Its under the pass side battery a-frame area.


My 99 gmc van went back for 2 batteries and our 01 tahoe also had a battery crack from the tray mount problem of some kind. Both were never ending rust problems after the acid ate everything in sight.


Has anyone had this problem with the new trucks? I kinda figured they fixed these issues. Oh well, I have 35,600 miles on it so Ill get the juice off and take it to the stealer. They never painted the rusted metal in either of our other trucks. I will not let them f-up my $40k ride! My local GMC svc manager is a real azz.

SInce it is in the area of the battery, your system is charging at too high a voltage and cause battery to constantly vent its corrosives gassers. You need to check it and wash area good with a baking soda soultion to neutralize any acid present.

Took the truck to a much more friendly GMC dealer 15 min past the dealer where I bought the truck (with no appt). The said it had a battery problem and replaced both batteries instead of just one as well as replacing rusted components.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif Also replaced a bad horn all with 35,600 miles on the truck.
