The truck just revved as if it where in neutral, I had lost 3rd, O/D, and the brake light is on solid now. There was no slipping or grinding, just gone. I pulled over(cussing of course), checked the fluid it was O.K, no smells, no leaks, got back in and limped it home in 2nd?
I then waited about an hour, so I could limp it to work(heated shop). It drove fine, all gears worked, shifted normally until it warmed up and happened again. I changed the ign switch in the fall and the tps. The bad tps was giving me almost the same symptoms, expect I could manually shift it, but not this time.
I was told it could be the vehicle speed sensor. Does it also control the shifting of the trans? It seems to only act up when it the truck warms up, so I take really short trips.
I would greatly appreciate any input. Thank-you, Rob.
