I came back Sunday after an off road trip (near the same place I got stuck for a day and a half early in June) and did my routine underside inspection. It appears the th front CVs are flinging diff fluid. Since I have a spindle lift kit their are extension blocks between the inside end of the CV asles and the diff. This seems to be where the oil is leaking and flinging. I don't see any dripping (yet) but the lift kit lowerer brackets are covered with oil.

I called the 4 wheel parts guy who installed the lift kit last fall and he is going to inspect it this weekend. But, he thinks it is an oem seal issue. No gaskets for the cv extension 'blocks' were part of the kit or necessary according to him.

Prior to this I also noticed some leakage around the white plastic part with wires attached which is inserted on the passenger side of the diff. Don't know if this is a related issue.

Thoughts, advice?

Thanks.

Deadeye, before changing a seal try changing the oil first unless recently done. I had both seals leaking on a low mileage 89. When I wiped off the oil with a clean white rag I could see it had aluminum flakes in it. Changed the oil and ran another 90K without a problem. Later! Frank
