NEVER EVER buy your new seals for your oil filter adapter for a 6.5 td from a gm dealership. Sometimes i think they are so stupid. if you have any plans to change these seals on your truck make sure you do them at a shop that has a wide variety of o-rings. i chaned my seals and the only one that worked was the big one between the block and adapter. I HATE GM PARTS TECHS.

Sounds like someone has an axe to grind here:rolleyes:
My advice would be to find another dealership with a different parts guy. I go to GM before NAPA. My parts guy at the dealership tells me when the OEM part is too high priced and how the quality compares to aftermarket. When the quality is the same and prices are way different, he lets me know. Usually the OEM stuff, though, is about the same price as aftermarket, so I go with OEM.
In regards to the O-rings, I'd buy OEM (in fact, I did when I replaced mine). I was sure I had the right sizes.

i didnt say go to napa for the parts you need for this job or any other parts store just make sure you have large supply of o-ring kits the shop that i had the work done at gave me the proper sized o-rings for the large bolt that attaches the adapter to the block the parts i got from the dealership were WRONG the only seal that fit was one out of three. if i was doing this in my drive way i would be screwd and pissed off why? because the dealership gave me the wrong parts.

the job is done. all i know is the dealer gave me the wrong parts. but on the bright side i do recomend getting them changed mine was leaking good and when i took it apart all the seals in the adapter were hard and brittle they all broke off. hopefully this isnt a regular occurance.
