Does it read at all? try reversing the leads. I am able to log egt with the probe that came with my edge.

EXT.AD1 or EXT.AD2 or EXT.AD3 or EXT.AD4 will give you the voltage reading. There is probably info out on the web for equating it to temperature.

If my memory serves me correctly, there are issues with logging EGTs with EFI Live. It has a hard time with the probes for some reason.

I have an extra prode from a Bully Dog display monitor, wonder if it'll work? I'll try it once I learn this EFI Live a little better. Right now its 100% a foreign language to me. -_-

I've successfully logged EGT's in the past using my SPA probe, EXT.TEMP1 or EXT.TEMP2(V2) will display the temperature.

That's probably much easier than my method:banghead:

My Nexus gauges log EGT's but it would be cool to integrate that with EFI, or maybe I'll just have to have 2 EGT probes.

whats this spa probe and is it like my current probe, or some other kind?

SPA is a brand of gauge that utilizes uses a standard K-type thermocouple. I bought mine from KennedyDiesel.com then used a thermocouple extension cable and coupler that I picked up at McMaster-Carr. When I want to data log EGT's I disconnect the gauge under the hood, plug one end of the extension cable into the thermocouple and the other into the Flashscan cable. Try doing a search, there are a few threads around here and on the EFIlive forum regarding thermocouples.

There is a known issue with the double ended (not the correct term) type probes. You need a single ended probe (also called a grounded probe from memory).

Ross

so it would be just one wire going into the flashscan cable?
would this one work?http://dieselplace.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=32094&stc=1&d=1168658313

edit: i changed the length of the wire jsut to see the price differance, $43 for a 96in wire, $32 for a 40in wire. must be made of gold.
