: High Idle Mode / STANDBY SPEED

I wired an high idle switch and it's working fine.

The SET speed is 1200 RPM and the RESUME speed is 1700 RPM. I heard about a STANDBY speed on a previous post but I can't find it. I would like to have it set at about 1000 RPM. That way, engaging the high idle switch would rev the engine up to 1000 RPM without having to push SET or RESUME, is that correct ? Is it working that way ? I have a 2003 Dmax.

That would be easier with remote start feature, instead of having to use the trunk output, I need it for something else.

Thx

You still need to activate the stand by speed with something from your remote, same button on your remote as the set button. Hitting the button the second time bumps it from stand by to set. hitting it the first time puts it in stand by.

I highly recommend against this. You will get an irregular standby speed and other problems if you touch the speeds at all with a tech 2 and the worst part is there is no way to reverse it.

In my opinion you are best to leave it alone.

Even if the idle switch is turned off the standby speed will remain problematic ?

No it will be fine when the switch is turned off. But if it is irrecular what is the point of having it? Don't say I didn't warn you :)

I'm just trying to see exactly what is irregular ? the standby speed or the whole mod ?

I wired my high idle without the switch, just the ecm pin wired to the brake switch. I have the standby with my 2001 OS ecm. The 02 OS ecm I am running now only has the set and resume speeds.

a 2003 doesn't then. I think I will end up using the set speed by toggling it with a timer relay or something else at start up. The wire on the brake will be fine too.
