Firstly, I want to say hello as this is my first post...merry christmas. My 04 (totally stock) extended cab-long bed has 44,000 and I wanted to change all the drivetrain fluids. I bought it from a dealer last year in WY w/28,000 and wasn't sure if everything had been changed and just wanted to get up to date. As the boat is hogging the garage, I decided to have someone esle do this. The local dealer wanted $500 so I was referred to a transmission shop by the local diesel performance guys. He replaced the inner/outer filter and was able to get 19 quarts in using the cooler line method. When I went to get on the highway, it wouldn't upshift at full throttle and "defueled" or whatever the term for bogged is, if I left my foot on throttle. Slight reduction in throttle and I got it to shift. Brought it back and he verified there were no fault codes. He feels confident that it has nothing to do with the service, and recommended that I check with the dealer about an updated flash for the brain. Just wondering if anyone has any insight. I've read about the NSBU switch, and assume it's original and it has been raining heavily for weeks now. Sincerely Tom

that's a rather suspect coincidence with the timing. Dumb question, but did you check the tranny fluid level yourself? Verify the fluid that was put in as well. I believe if the NSBU switch starts acting up the indicator lights on the dash will also start to act up...

Welcome Tom,

First things First, Just check your atf level when the trans gauge is at ~180F and see that the atf level is smack in the middle of the HOT zone on the stick.

Huge thanks for the reply's....checked it when cold and looked for leaks.....but when I checked it today(hottest I could get it at 50 ft above sea level in winter on highway was 150), and it was a quart low.....problem solved....tranny man was appologetic and owes me a favor...thanks again...
