My 83 6.2L diesel has been hard to start when cold since I've gotten it. I've been giving it a small squirt of fluid to get it going. Last week I got off my butt and tested the glow plugs and found 2 had broken electrical tabs and another one didn't have any continuity. The back 2 I couldn't reach to test. I ordered a set of 8 wellman glow plugs from ebay and got them yesterday. I put 6 in this morning. 1 wouldn't come out even after starting the engine and the other I couldn't get the wire connector off. I screwed the stuck one back in for now. Anyway even with just 6 new glow plugs the thing starts right up now after about 10 seconds of manual glow plug action. The temp was between 30-35F this morning. Now I'm more of a happy camper! :)

Wish my starting problem would have been glow plugs. *sigh*
I need to call and check on it to see what they've done so far. It's been about a month now and I'm having truck DTs.

I was having trouble starting the truck in 70 degree weather, and Glow Plugs made all the difference. Every single one was bad! Talk about a good way to melt batteries!

You still don't have your truck back? I would think it would be done by now...
