Well recently I have sold my hunting boat and got some Christmas money:D . So now I have the money to fix my transmission and beyond. I dont want to send it all on my trans though. Now down to the question could I (a novice) rebuild my transmission haveing access to a 11,000lb 2 post car lift, heavy duty trans jack, allison tech service manual and alot help from friends. I not retarded when it comes to mechanical things Im pretty confindent I could do it, just would like to know would it be a easier install for a novice like me with these tools. Keep in mind I have a shop full of tools. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Rand

Both Mike L. and Eric Merchant have helped a few members on this site out who decided to do their own allison upgrades. Neither one of these guys will stear you wrong. I'd talk to them before the purchase just to be sure you get what you want.

You shouldn't have any problems as long as you take your time. I am guessing you have already done your research here, so get to work and let us know how it goes!

Sounds like you can takle this thing as long as you have a stout trans jack and a pal or 2.

Trans is 350 DRY, the jack I bought is 1000# rated, Have not used it yet but soon, the LBZ is next in line. Did my 01 on the floor with help from a friend, that works also, but that thing is Heavy!

You want one that could do the trans in a bus becasue thats what your working with ;) You want one that is very sturdy and has good adjustments front to back and side to side.
