OK, I know it will run worse SOON but riddle me this...I have a Feb. '01 build date that has run great for 65K...all stock...losts of PM(oil/filt/5K's, OE fuel and air filts/10K's 2micCat Pre-filt.recently, Transfluid/filt20K's, coolant flush, belt tensioner) no trips to the "big house"(GMdealer) no reflashes(GM).
I regularly check my injector balance rate during PM. Up until 5K-10K ago all were sub +/- 1-2. This summer #2 injector began its decline(or should I say increase). In 5-10K went into the +2-3 range to a few weeks ago to +4-5 and today was +7-8!!! Strange thing is that it still runs smooth/good and yielded 19.4 on the last tank of fuel...BUT yes I know it's going. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
I took it to a local GM commercial service house where I talked with the tech and the commercial sevice manager. They wrote up an RO and told me they'd call me when they had me eight new injectors in stock. (know there's a backorder) so looks like I've found a good shop in my area pending repair.(easy to deal with so far). http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
Question for Eric, Sid etc....Does high fuel return on the + side mean that the injector is fouled/not opening fully rather than leaking? NO fuel in crankcase (look/smell) and NO SES/MIL light but really high numbers. Just curious about the + vs. - in the numbers. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
Thanks, Andy
