Today while turning some corners on dry pavment, it felt like the truck was dragging in 4x4. It was in 2x4. I put it in 4x4 and tested on some snow, it does change between the two. So, I know its not in 4x4, but there is some grabbing while turning. Only 800 miles on it. Everything is very quiet.

Check your bulid sheet, Should list G80, locking rear diff, and its normal for that setup, all of mine will do the same thing.

I've noticed that the G80 (Eaton Gov-Locker) will do that when making sharp left turns but not on sharp right turns.

you should not be able to feel it though

Start by changing your rear diff fluid.

Then do some figure 8's on dry pavement to get the oil into the clutch plates.

I didn't see anything like that on my sheet.

I know it may be a stupid question, but is there snow and sleet packed in your fender wells?

Mine started feeling that way the other day after I spun one tire on ice and the G80 kicked in and got me up the hill. It felt like it did not unlock and when making turns I could feel the drag and see the tire marks (one side) on the driveway. I backed up a couple of times and it released. I guess it's time to change out the read diff fluid.

Mine feels that way when the G80 is locked while turning.

Any way to tell if you have a G80 besides the sicker? I.e vin, glove box sticker, tag on diff...
Thanks.

call your local dealer with your vin and the parts department can tell you if you have G80 or not. Though it is not something they like to do, so be nice to them!!

almost all dmax's have the Gov-lock rear end if Im not mistaken.

mine does it every once in a while...feels like its not unlocking for some reason. I just do some S turns, accellerate then let off a couple times and it fixes itself.
