My check engine light came on and plug my bullydog in and it spit out p0381 code and it said glow plug malf. I went under the dtc trouble code list and it said wait to start lamp control circuit. Now does that mean that the pig tail light is not lighting up or does that mean that the glow plug is actually not even working before I start it up? Thanks

I had that same code, when i had my cluster out of my truck for repairs, as soon as i plugged it back in, the code was not there anymore. so it has somthing to do w/the signal to the light, not a malfuntion of the glowplug its self.

I had my cluster out to put white face guage overlay! Do you think that something happen during that? I wouldn't think I just unplugged it and then plugged it back in when I was done.

Matter of fact I am going out there after the game and unplugging it and going to plug it back in! Can't hurt.

Thats your problem, and try clearing the code w/the bullydog, after you unplug/plug it in .

Thanks alot! I went out and went to pull the cluster out and the harness came unplugged on its own therefore it apparently wasn't plugged in the hole way! COOL!!! Im glad you got it solved, i found that code when i had my cluster in for the speedometer problem, while it was out i drove to the store, and my tranny shifted weired, so i checked the to see if there were any codes, and all i had was the P0381 glowplug malf... i had a appointment, at the dealer,but when i put my cluster back in, i seen the light, then it shut off, and no codes, checked it again and no codes.
