How is every one doin??? Merry Christmas
So far I have changed the glow plug relay but still no power to them... bad relay or is there something that will tell it not to send power??? I have 12v on the one side but none on the other when wts is on?? I am at a loss
lotsa white smoke so that would mean we got fuel..
I also tested the plugs for power if i jump it and they all get power..
as far as the p1656 i have vac to the solenoid just none to the wastegate...
ordered new one will take 3 days to get here...
any ideas
thanks johnny

That is very odd, since the WTS lamp is powered by the driver's-side glow plug harness - first indication the controller is bad is when the WTS lamp doesn't lite.
Check the Fusible Link at the large ring-terminal for open or loose crimp.

where is the Fusible Link??? on what side???
It's got me stumped... It's getting power you can here it click but no power to the plugs... But like i sed if you jump it it will power the plugs
You can tell when they get power b/c it will dim the lights..
I was wondering if the ecm could do such a thing so tryed to unplug the cts and still no change..

Each gp harness has a fusible link in the controller end - the harness insulation is blue, the link is red or black.
Did you replace with a new controller, or a pre-owned unit?

Well now I got as far as the controler being good.. but when the WTS light is on it will not switch the power on does any one have a wiring schematic for glow plug controller IE where the 3 leads go int the plug in the back of the controler...
Controler has 12v on the one side
if you jump the the glow plug lead they will work
all fusible links are good..
also I got a working wastegate solenoid still no vac to the wastegate..
what would make the 2 things happen at once??
ecm go bad???
truck ran fine for the trip home (76miles) around 30 to 35 next morning no start and codes P0380 and P1656
help :-)

Do you hear the gp controller click when the Ign is on?
Pin A is switched ignition thru the ENG1 fuse
Pin B is control from PCM
Pin C is ground
Power is via fusible link from the fuse block
If you hear controller click with Ign on, but you get glow only when you jump across the power terminal posts, it is defective.

no click.. new controler tested it and a diffrent truck and works..
eng1 fuse is good
bad ground??
or bad ecm ..
or short i guess

No click would indicate an open, not a short.
IGN ON, measure pin A for +12v, pin C for ground - measure these pins with dvm black lead on the intake manifold bolts to verify ground connection on C
then measure for zero voltage at pin B with Ign OFF
turn IGN ON and look for any change on B as Wait to Start indicator lites up

Got it
Thanks GMCTD..
The lead from the ecm shorted.
It was rubbing on the other outside cover they put on the harness..
After I found that (PITA) and fixed it the wast gate starter working again guess they work of the same ground or something I know I am lucky my ecm did not fri... never poped the eng1 fuse
But thanks for your help and time....
on x mass weekend, hope all is well..
