Well, the piggy bank is full and i'm ready to make an upgrade to my Ally.My main concern is that I often am carrying my 3300# camper on and off for 4 days at a time. Would some kind of quicklearn device help? Whats a good upgrade to go with and what torque converter is best.

The questions you have to ask yourself are, what are you doing with your truck? Pulling, racing, etc? Then you can decide what you need to do trans wise. Also what kind of power do you want to run? That will help you figure out what trans to do. I would run Suncoast and if you do nothing else then install a Transgo and triple disc converter....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I agree that it depends what you are wanting to do with it.

Getting the trany's taps reset and having it put into fast learn is a good idea and it will spped the learning process and move you through the quirky shifts faster. Its not required though. Does take a tech 2 or a snapon scanner or a few other higher dollar scan tools. I had a shop here do it for 25$ cash after Mike L walked em through what to do
