I was wondering if the filter head that is being used with the new nicktane kits (perma-cool??) with the larger inlet/outlet ports would offer and performance gain over the original cat filter head assembly? Has anyone compared the 2 and would it be easy to switch over to the new filter head and worth the switch?

Thanks for the help guys

Hi,

The PC head does have larger passages throughout and has the ability to flow more fuel. that being said, i haven't found where the OEM CAT head has caused too much restriction even on higher horsepower trucks. switching to the PC head probably wouldn't net any difference and wouldn't be worth it. i switched to it for a few reasons- less fittings (less potential for leaks during assembly), larger ports, and the most important to me was its lower profile so the whole assembly can be moved a bit higher up netting a bit more ground clearance.

Thanks for the response nick, im only runnin the six-gun and I have plenty of ground clearance so filter clearance isn't an issue for me. Mine has been working great so im gonna stick with it.

Thanks for your time
