i was thinking about selling off my two little programers and get efi live but i was wondering if i could put it on my truck with my stack just to find out what the programers are doing and copy the tunes and add to them what i would like

The EFI Live vendors on this site know a lot about it...Most of them offer a tow tune that is transmission friendly with your purchase...I'd be willing to bet that those particular tunes are much better than your current ones...

First of all, if you were to download your existing programmers you would probably be in breech of copyright.

Secondly, if you were to log your stacking combination the results probably wouldn't be that great - inline boxes fool the ECM, so the results you log will not actually be what your engine is doing.

I'd suggest you read the EFILive subforum on this site, download our software for free to trial it out, and download some tunes from the Tune repository to see whats involved. Most members here have found that the tunes they create, or received with purchase in most cases are better than their handheld programmers.

In the sticky FAQ's thread in our subforum, there are some links for EFILive resellers and EFILive resellers who are also supporting vendors on Diesel Place

Cheers
Cindy
