I just changed the external filter on the Ally while doing an engine oil/filter change. My question is this; should I replace the 10 oz. of trans fluid that came out with the filter? I'm planning on doing a flush and using the Transynd fluid at 10k. Currently at 5k.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you retained the donut shaped magnet on top of the filter.

I always pre-fill the filter before installing it.

If you don't prefill the filter, check the level and make up and needed.

Thanks for the replies. 10-4 on the magnet, actually I purchased a new one along with the filter. Love to tinker with this truck. Still have my '01 8.1 and I never tinkered with that one like I do this diesel.

Here's a question. Where can I get a replacement magnet?
