in the last week or so i have noticed that either my fuel guage is acting up or my truck is really sucking down fuel. i was just on my way out to a race and all of a sudden my truck went from almost half a tank to the fuel light coming on in about 30 miles... so i filled up and on the way home i noticed i went from past full to less than 3/4 of a tank in about the same amount of miles... could this be an injector problem or just a screwed up fuel guage??? any ideas would be very helpful because the dealers in my area suck!!!

So fill the tank again and see how much fuel it takes. That should tell you if you gauge is accurate or not. If the gauge is accurate, the fuel is going somewhere ... out the tailpipe, on the ground, or into the crankcase.

i don't want to sound like a dumba$$ but i checked the oil and didn't smell anything out of the ordinary... the truck seems to be running at full power but i am just worried because i have a big tow in 2 weeks and if the truck goes down then i am done!!!

Most likely a sulfer fouled level resistor (if there is no fuel in the oil)...
