Got my rims put on yesterday. I like'em alot.

American Racing, Mojave 16x8 teflon coated. $155 per rim. I dont think I could beat that anywhere.

They rub now and they didnt before. I guess I have to do some trimming.

The grill was professionally painted gloss black with a silver bowtie.

I used to not like them at all. I am, however, now considering them myself thanks to Ratlover's creation. I'm still not a fan of solid black rims, they gotta have the polisched lips on them.


I'd say I still favor chrome though, chrome is just so much more expensive.

I like it, especially the grill. I do agree with Max Power on the fender flares and handles, and the de-moulding/badge too(except the Dmax/Ally badge of course). Would real look sweet then.

Don't like black rims. Chrome or polished is my choice.

I just put a set of the 17" Teflon Mojav's on my truck for the winter, I have the Charcoal Metalic and the match quite will, with chrome centercaps and lugnuts I think they look great and will stand up to the salt really well.

I like black wheels on a white or black truck. I think it looks good, but I think gloss black would look better. Either way it looks good.

I priced it already. A bit expensive for my liking. Maybe in time.

I got a buddy that loves that look though..........every truck he has had since I knew him he put's black rims on !! I think he believes it looks more rugged or tougher or something !! I probably wouldn't mind on a hunting truck or something I went muddin' in a lot !! But for a $40k new truck..........just doesn't do it for "me" !!

I just took my side emoldings off my truck..........my finger's are killing me !! It didn't take long (couple hours).......but what a pain !!

I like them, but they only have 4.5" backspace. I would rather have wheels with backspace around 5.5" -- Would fit a lot better with those 285 tires and require less trimming.

I'm of the opinion that you've gotta go all-black. Right now, your truck looks confused. Paint all the chrome, moldings, badges, bumper cover, tint the windows, tint the amber marker lenses and tail lights, and it'd really pull everything together. If you do the prep work yourself you can save a good deal on the paint. I'd leave the moldings on, but if you want a quick way to deal with them, you can find some wide black PVC trim tape at most parts stores to cover up the chrome strip. I've done it before and it looks pretty decent. You'll have the whole Mad Max look going for you when you get it done.

i like black rims, but i dont think those look good on ur truck, i think gloss blacks like some motometals or some others would have looked better. but the painted grille sure looks good, i might have to considering doing that. definitly paint ur lower chrome part of the bumper black and remove the moldings.

Memphis is a city full of Democrats. It is all about bling. 20 inch chrome wheels on everything! My truck with 16 inch black wheels is the anti that. Same thing the the chrome door handles. I just laugh when I see them. I would rather put a wing on my truck than chrome door handles:)

I thought the grill was a nice touch that you dont see a whole lot of. I've seen a few members around here with a black painted grill. I always wondered if it would look ok on a black truck....I'm very pleased.

I actually ordered black centercaps. Somehow what came in was chrome. I think I'm sticking with these though.

I like the mojaves, but I think I would rather try powdercoating the PYO's black.

I love black rims. Since I was like 10 I would look through the ads in the 4 wheeler mags and look at the black steel wheels. There's nothing else I ever wanted, except for a couple of months when I thought about putting 22" spinners on it insead of the lift (hey, what can I say? I'm white and I was 15:p:). But ya I wound up with my dream wheels. And my dream truck. Even after several months of it being lifted, I still walk over to the window every once in awhile and look at that badass truck sitting in front of the house.:ro)

I kinda don't care for solid black rims (sorry guys who have them). I like black and polished rims. On my 96 I've got the old American Racing Black and Polished rims that look like their turning. I think they are called 95's or something when they made them. I'd really love to see a Chevy with the new Diamo 17k Black wheels too. I really like them and think I'm going to maybe get them for my Duramax.

Black wheels are SWEEET. Chrome and polished are for trailer queens, not work trucks. I am looking at getting pro comps 16x8 7089 with 285/75/16 pro comp extreme AT's.

I like them alot. Seems to me that everyone has chrome where I live, I very rarely see black rims. I've been debating what a set of 18" Black Rockstars would look like on my Dark blue metallic LBZ.
They seem to be pretty popular wheels on here but I have yet to see a set in person.

I'm on the fence. I think I will get a second set of wheels when I replace my summer tires in the spring. I'll probably go with black 16x8 or 9. I have a hard time with the idea of spending thousands for BIG(18"-22") shiney wheels and tires to fit, when it's mostly an appearance item. I'm also not a fan of tires as wide as tobogans. If I went bigger it would be 19.5s. Maybe I'm just poorer than most.

I tried both but I prefer the chrome on my white truck. See different pics in my garage. Actually wish I had both to switch back and forth every once in a while. Importkilla might get pissed if I keep taking his wheels though.

Coincidently, I just dropped the rims on my truck off at the powder coater today...

He's coating them medium black...not very glossy...

The Wheels, center caps, and lug nuts are all being coated so I'm hoping it looks better this way....

Don't like black wheels very much at all. If I had to pick a set it'd be the moto metal 951's. I like the chrome accents and the gloss.

I am anti-bling. Never did like black rims much. Then I put them on my truck and loved them. First thing I thought when I saw them was that it looked like the truck was tearin' up the earth just sitting still. Black rims with big tires on lifted rigs are awsome. Black rims on stock ride height trucks with 245s, I dont think it would work as well.

They look great, but only on black trucks. They give it a mean look. I don't like them on any other color. Yours looks good.

I hate bling and chrome. Matte finishes, powdercoating etc. look way better. The black looks great.

Grill look spretty sweet. I may have to do that. I was suprised at first when you told me you truck didn't rub with no trimming, and 6 turns on the torsion bars. Then I read up, and realized the stock rims have almost 5 inches of back spacing so the tire tucks in enough to clear. Most of the aftermarket 16x8's are apparently 4.5", and less. I think I'm going to go with polished Centerlines when I go to BFG TA 285 Load E's.

More and more I am digging the black rims...on any color truck. My last truck had polished, which I loved, but hated to clean. Chrome rims are just too much for me. I think that I am going to get black rims as soon as I find some that I really like. Weld has come out with a new one that is pretty nice. I agree that it sets your truck apart from all the rest...and after all...isn't that what we are going for? Additionally, I think that the black would work out nice for me in the Washington weather.

How are the load ratings for those rims?

The "blackout" treatment looks good on an all black truck. Leaving a few elements of chrome, here and there, is ok.

Hemisareslow, that is an impressive front end! The light covers and the blackout emblem amonst the "chrome" mid strip, exceptionally sharp.

However, I wouldn't do it to my truck, for one simply reason, it's dark metallic blue (Ming Blue). Most folks think that it's already black, and if I were to add something that is black to it, they might think that I have two shades of black that don't match.

Someone made a set and just recently stopped making them. Dont know why. I was looking for a set as well. No luck though.

i went with the 16's....went to get the rims on friday and they only shipped one.....total bs....should be getting them in another week

Those are H O T....just the right amount of chrome. ;) What I am not of fan of is the exhaust pipe in the bed, I understand the truck probably runs 11-50s and and tow a aicraft carrier...I just not fond of the look.

Those are nice. What kind of lift did that have? Its got a great stance.

It was a Rancho 4.5".

the tires were the BFG 315/ 70 17, which are a 34.5" tire

I was shooting for a 3.5" - 4" lift but had to settle for the 4.5.

It was definitely a unique truck and stood apart from all the chrome around here.

I'm digging your grill. Nice job on that. I wanna do something different for the front of my 05 Sierra.

It's white and I was thinking of going with a white and silver-painted scheme. Just kicking around some thoughts.

I don't have black rims on my Dually, but I do have blacks on one of my lifted Chevy gassers.

The rims on the black truck are 16x12 MRW(Marsh Racing Weels) rock crawling gloss black wheels with orange beadlocks.

On my humble opinion, I like the look of the black rims on the big black truck, specially with those orange beadlocks.

They came like that.. Other pics of the KMC Black Diesels that I've seen show it all black without the lip. I got them for $150ish.. And if you come out and "gank" them I might be a better shot than you :snipersmi

Gorillia (locks) makes some really cool spline drive black anodized lugs. They have them for sports cars I assume they have them for trucks.
