Alright guys, I have a little bit of a worry. My truck has 88,600 miles on it, starts perfect every time and no smoke what so ever. I changed the oil and fuel filter on monday night because I had to drive to San Fransisco. On my way home coming down I-80 towing a small trailer I tapped the brake pedal and the truck down shifted, I looked in the mirror and saw a fairly larger plume of blue smoke come out. That worries me a little bit. It only happenes when I have been coasting for about 10 or more seconds and the truck down shifts in tow haul mode. It will not smoke if I step of the go pedal.

Any ideas as to why it is doing this?? Cracked piston, turbo on the way out, tuning, bad load of fuel....??

Hi I just had the same thing happen to me. I was told by the dealer it was a bad injector. So they replace all eight under warranty. Now problem is gone and running great. I have 82,000 miles on a 2500hd 03.

Hmm, I had my injectors replaced at 62,000 miles and my balence rates are good. 6 and 7 are the worst at 2.5 out of gear and 7 goes to 2.9 in gear. I will probibly take it down to the dealer and have ramp the fuel pressure up and cheak it again.

Well I took a fuel sample and had it tested and it looks like I got a really really bad load of diesel. I used some fuel adatives and it feels like it is running better but I have not been able to see if it is smokeing again.
