How could one reduce the underhood temps? Would products like a cowl induction hood or a set of scoops help? Opinions welcome.

Not sure, but, When I put a Goodmark cowl hood on I put the OEM insulation back on and cut out the 2 holes that are in the hood that lead up into the cowl.

I'm not sure yet if it sucks air in or blows out from under the hood. I was going to attach a bit of thread to it and run down the highway to check.

Doesn't make any difference on the temp gauge.

Underhood temp can not be measured by the vehical temp gauge. The temp gauge measures the coolant temp. Thank you fur the reply, good to know.

IF YOU GET A CHANCE DRIVE IT IN THE RAIN AND WATCH THE WATER DIRECTION ON THE BACK OF THE HOOD. IM BETTING IT SUCKS RIGHT IN THE BACK OF THE HOODhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Best bet would be to blanket the "hot" parts with shielding. HP would go up as you will use more of the exhaust heat to build boost.
