: LB7 120k No Injector Problem
BTduramax 12-19-2006, 07:42 PM Have an 03 with 120k. No sign of an injector prolbem here. Just luck or should i tap on some wood?
I drive the truck everyday to work 7 days at 70 miles round trip. Could it be driving it everyday lubes the injectors with the running of fuel threw them. Who knows right. Really like this truck alot. Hope it dosn't happen, but from the looks of it from continueing see threads on this subject on this site. I may be encountering it soon.
I am close to this wit 110k and the last 40 k with power adder full time with no problem. I think that the injector on the 03-04 lb7 have a lot less problem than the 01-02. I have read a article on a gm site that said that 85-90 % of the injector problem were on the 01 -02 lb7 iirc even if they give a longer warranty on the injector for all the lb7 engine now... So dont tap wood and just enjoy your troublefree duramax:)
BTduramax 12-19-2006, 08:00 PM Yea... I defintily enjoy this truck. Only thing i have had to put on this truck is a set of shocks. Really needed to put them on at 80k. Bilstiens are a sure winner for this truck. Huge difference in quality of ride.:)
1dmbth 12-19-2006, 08:28 PM I have 110k and no injector trouble on my 03'. I have a friend with an 03' that 142k and he has not had any trouble either.

BlackSSmoke 12-20-2006, 01:50 PM i have 121,000 alomost on my LB7, injectors were replced at 109,000 miles IIRC. So far so good. :D
supatrucka 12-20-2006, 04:42 PM I have 111,000 and i had a power adder since 17,000 and no problem yet so sit back and enjoy your ride. dave
markzrt1 12-20-2006, 09:53 PM Maybe we should get some build dates for the 3 '03's that havent had any issues and the date off the one '03 that has?
kaiserrw 12-20-2006, 10:35 PM Well if you want to run the VIN mine is 1GCHK29183E183384 and see what the build date is. It now has over 109K miles and no issues other than it keeps emptying the fuel tank!
Tolliwacker 12-20-2006, 11:31 PM Build date 12/04/2002
Warranty start date 8/23/2003
MaxFarmer 12-21-2006, 12:30 AM I'm running an 01 with close to 130K on it on the same injectors it rolled off the lot with. I've had the mega for all but the first 35K. I think my head gasket is going though...I'm going to try to get newer ones put in while its that far apart.

great to hear this...just one question though....are you the original owner?
LS1BirdDRG 12-21-2006, 05:26 AM My 02 is still on the original injectors with 114k miles. I do notice a slight surge sometimes at idle so hopefully my luck's not running out.

Is it a Loopy Idle? Might be the FPRV. I had mine done @ 85k or so. Smoothed it right out. I have 100k on my 03 with no injector problems. I run no additives, no extra filtration. Nothing. Just change the FF every 15k. Oh yeah, Been juiced since 50k.
50K and counting love the truck no add ons other than my eighth edge module Beta Testing a new version currently truck has always run great and been dependable. New Bilsteins going on Saturday.
jimmytopman 12-21-2006, 09:07 AM mine lasted until 155,000 miles and I drive about 175-225 miles a day
