I need to replace the center bearing. I can get the parts but look for someone or someplace in the Corona/Riverside/Orange area that can help install it. The dealer wants $225 to install it, they claim 2 hours to do it, we had the drive shaft off yesterday in about 5 minutes.
I believe the bearing needs to be pressed in.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I do believe you are refering to the midshaft or intermidiate bearing. If that is the case, it is as easy to replace as it is to remove the driveshaft. If you get what I am getting at, if you can remove the driveshaft yourself, I wouldn't pay a shop to swap the bearing assembly.

Yes you are correct, but Mike L. indicated that the bearing would need to be pressed in.

Yes the bearing does need to be pressed on. Any local driveline shop would be a better idea than the stealer. Pull it yourself and take it in for the cheapest repair bill.

Go to Harbor Frieght and buy one of their 20ton presses for $150 using their nice little 15% off coupon on the $179 sale price. A press can always comes in handy and you can never have too many tools...

Go to any good parts store with a machine shop and they will do the R&R for $30-$40.00
