I have read that afe and mbrp are pretty much the same thing, other then the afe having a 2 piece tailpipe, is this true?? I have a 2004 Lb-7 with a cat and egr, which i don't know why I have a cali emision truck, when I live and bought the truck in NewYork but thats besides the point... So i was just wondering if the 309ss AFE is the same system pretty much as a 309ss MBRP, and 309ss Silverline, I would deal with the 2 piece tailpipe if thats really the only difference, Thanks in advance.

The most major difference in the two T409 systems is the warranty. The AFE 409 stainless has a five year warranty, MBRP has extended theirs to 10 years! Other than the warranty MBRP will weld the hangers directly to the pipes, (in most cases) although in the Duramax cases they use clamps with hangers integrated in them. Afe, on all of their exhaust systems will use clamps with the hangers integrated on them, they do not weld to the pipe.
