If you mean the member on this board that goes by "Flashscan" then you are out of luck at this point. He is one of the EFILive creators and can do pretty much what he wants as far as programming on these vehicles at this point. Maybe it will be a future feature of EFILive.

I think i seen a discussion of this once, i thought i remember him saying its in the bcm but the problem was its only temporary for some reason. maybe im wrong ill see if i can find the thread.

FlashScan as in the Diesel Place user also known as Ross changed the message display on a test dash sitting in his office with a hex editor for fun - some of you go out and drink with your buddies, some of you gamble, or go watch some football - but not Ross, he plays with electronics in his spare time. Your right if FlashScan (aka Ross) can do it you can too - just go buy the equipment :D

If your refering to FlashScan as in the name of our hardware used to support EFILive, our software, then you can't do it. The display in Ross's avatar wasn't created using EFILive nor was it created using FlashScan

Will it ever be encorporated as a feature in EFILive and FlashScan? Who knows, but one thing is certain with the development for additional vehicle support scheduled for the next 6 months it won't be something even investigated in the short term.

Cheers.....and "Justin your the man"

There are two ways to do it, but both ways require special hardware. Yes, the message is temporary, similar to the "ICE POSSIBLE" message that many of us see from time to time.

I remember reading that the messages were pre-programed into the cluster and then baised on signals from the BCM it knows which one to display.

Yes, that is the typical method that is used to display the DIC messages.

It should be possible just need the person with the skill to make it happen. Always seems like there is a new item to have fun with every day in this tech world. Ram isn't Dodge either. Maybe a hacker guy can scan it out who knows. Nice feature for EFI if possible to install.

So is there anyway for us to do this?
