friend is getting edge for christmas, and his son just turned 16, so that isnt a good combo! is there a manual overide or something to turn the edge off or disable it to keep his son from beating the truck?
thanks dirty

put it to stock, or unplug it

Not that I am aware of..he will prob have to disconnect it some how. But even then a 16 year old can figure it out..

that what i thought, but could you set it to stock, and maybe a toggle switch to the power side of the attitude to turn it off, so it will stay stock.

You would think that EDGE would put a lockable valet mode into the attitude?

I am 16 and can figure out about twice as much as dad can. But, if my dad asked me not to do something, I would do what he said. Can he not trust his son?

I had a great solution. Bought the boy a truck when he was 15 and we worked on it together. He has never taken one of my vehicles out - he has a wild side (I wonder where he got that from??):driver: :devilfing

I agree with 2006Sierra. My dad and I have worked on an 89 Turbo Trans Am since I was 13. It is now a mid 11 second car. He has his GN and I have my TTA and truck. However, he doesnt care if I drive his or visa versa. You have to learn to trust eachother.

He could just tell his son not to mess w/ it..then before his son takes the truck for the first time Id clear the "record" section. This will show top speed, max rpm ect. He will know exacly how hard it was run.
