Can anyone tell me what the best kit for a '06 2500? and where I can get them? I consider "best" to be bang for the buck and easiest to install.

Thanks.:D

I got mine on ebay for $165 plus $15 shipping. They were a plug and play install and work nice. I got the 4300K as I wanted white lights, not blue.

http://www.pilothid.com/

They sell on e-bay, but their website has all the info.

Good luck!

The website has them for $189...better price on ebay I guess. Was it pretty much plug and play? Do you have a pic? Thanks in advance

it was totally plug and play OTHER than the fact that I had to reverse the red and black power wires coming to the ballast. The plus and minus were reverse of what the HID ballast needed. It took all of a minit to change.

Putting the lamps in the housings was a total plug and play thing too.

It's an easy change. the hardest part is finding a place to mount the ballast.

no pics yet.

Newguy,

Which kit did you buy?

Thanks,
Steve

Ok, ordered the kit, I got 4300k, from what I understand the more blue to purple you go the less light you get. Plus I am hoping the color will match the Silverstars I bought. Was $189 minus 10% holiday discount. Where did you mount the balasts? Do you have an pics? Hope there are here by New Year. I am betting on the plug aspect as I am not looking to splice the harness on $50k truck.

I got the 4300K kit and when you first turn them on they are a little blue, but after 30 sec they get to full brighness and turn white.

As for the wiring - I was able to take apart the connector and just swap the wires around for the headlight. The lamp you take out doesn't care which way the plus and minus are wired, but the HID ballast does.

I have not yet "mounted" my ballasts - they are just hanging out in the fenderwells waiting to be mounted...

I seem to be missing something. Most of the kits can be ordered with the 4300k bulb. But the kit number is something like a 9006. So, is the kit you used the 9006 with a 4300K bulb?

Thanks,
Steve

4300K is the color temperature of the bulb. ie...white, blue, purple, etc... 9006 is the low beam bulb on our trucks.
