went ahead and put on a full magnaflow turbo back exhaust on this afternoon, removed cat and all - 4" all the way through to 5" tip - hopefully will get some better flow, not worried about reducing the EGT as it has always been pretty good and nothing to worry about. First impression driving after cat removal was really good (seat of pants) - definitely feels smoother, and has better response - and, it hasnt set any codes http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

did you end up using a 4 bot flange or did your buddy just run it straight to the muffler?
btw- did you hear anything from edge on the turbo surging?

we used a full magnaflow kit 4" straight thru with 4 bolt flange connections and ran it straight out from the flange in front of the cat, and used a dynamax 4" downpipe that removed the cat and bolted right up to the flange. Worked great - sounds maybe just a little deeper and can hear more turbo whistle http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif ... edge basically said they know there a few isolated (let them tell it) cases with the turbo bark and are blaming it on the turbo and sensors in the LLY, claim they dont have a fix yet but will be working on one. also said it has something to do with altitude as others that are above sea level dont experience it ?? not sure about that though. guess ill just wait for Steve to come through with the next big thing from TTS for the LLY and get er done

More feedback on the full exhaust with no cat:
- no codes, much better low end, more turbo boost and faster spool up, lower egt's, turbo whistles thru the exhaust, and it feels much smoother and quicker out of the whole ! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
