:help2: I was wondering if anyone knew how accurate the factory in dash trans temp gauge was? Im in the process of ordering gauges and was told the original isnt that accurate.. however as long as it lets me know when its gettin real hot isnt that all i need to know? I am asking because i dont want to have an extra gauge, and a dead in-dash gauge if i do not need it. any help is appreciated

i think its about 2-5 degrees off the "real" temp.

as long as you know what it usually runs at, you can see any fluctuations as when it gets hot. doesnt need to be on the dot. hot is hot

Mine always runs at least 20 degrees below engine temp... i wonder how many guys will chime in. Interesting to see the differnces these gauges can produce...

Trans temp on my 05 matches the Banks PDA very very close unlike the coolant gauge which somtimes can be off by 30* from the Banks.

Gauges from stock are not to be held as dead nuts as much as they are approximates. The gauges dont seem to respond as much as the actual reading s with a Tech-2. This includes the volt and ECT gauge as well. That being said, the stock gauge is plenty fine, just use is as a guide. You know where it normally runs, if you see something outside that realm, then keep an eye on it.

My OEM trans gauge is dead on with the Tech-2. Of course with only a few tick marks on the analog gauge you can't tell precisely what the gauge is reading anyway. It's close enough to not be able to tell it's wrong.
