I don't know you well enough so don't take this the wrong way. I test drove all 3 diesels before I bought mine-needless to say what I ended up with. Didn't Ford buy cummins? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gifA guy I worked with had a new cummins (a lemon) and I let him drive my lb7 and he fell in love. I am not saying that mine is better than yours, I am just drawing a comparison your old truck(a lemon) and your new truck. I like the old cummins better than the new ones as a matter of fact. Louder but feel more powerful.

To make a long story short, it is all in what people like.

P.S. GREAT article on how to install the egr probe and turbo probe. I am mechanically DE-CLINED.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif So all the advise I can get is helpful.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif Well the thing is, I don't believe cummins owners should talk about psd since ford bought cummins- or is that just a rumor? And I don't mean only Hoot. I read a post somewhere where cummins owners were bashing the psd and that is somewhat hypocriticle if the rumor is true. I would have bought an early model cummins but I have never owned a dodge. And the main reason I went with chevy is because their parts are cheapest, then ford, then dodge. The reason why is they make their parts interchangable. Example: a part from a '86 tranny will work on a '99 tranny. I don't believe there is anything cheap on the duramax or the allison though! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif So it has to be dependability in my case. Edited by: dmaxfan

Just in case you're not joking . . .no, Ford didn't buy Cummins . . .ever. Ford once owned a small minority interest in Cummins and that was years ago. At this time Ford either owns no Cummins stock (most likely) or too little to require SEC disclosure.

This hoax used to be mentioned and discredited on the Cummins web site, but I couldn't find it just now.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif oic. Then forget I mentioned it and thanks for clearing the air for me. I am new at this diesel stuff, and have learned long ago that when something is said, not to always take it to heart. That is why I asked the question, and the reason I posted this is because a different post had hoot and alot of other dodge owners arguing to dmax owners and vice versa.

Thats what I always thought? I heard that is why Dodge can not have real quad cab diesel. Because that is part of the arrangement?

You want to see lemons, all you have to do is look in the RETURNED LOT at Flints truck and bus group, the lot is full of lemons that have been returned,I see it everyday, and I am sure Dodge has its lemons also and we all know Ford has quite a few themselves, and it is whatever fits your bill,if you like Chevy buy it,I use to buy nothing but Fords, now I am all Dodge and dont plan on changing.

Isn't that Ironic. Most if not all Allison dealers have a association with Detroit Diesel, well they do around here.

I can't get a Allison part unless I go to a Detroit Diesel ,Allison dealer.

Ya know it is truly unfortunate.Known him for well over five years on and off the forums as of late.*

Without going into any great detail,he came here with a lot of baggage from other forums, unknown to a lot of you New comers. I myself helped him as the staff to ween through the people that came here just to disrupt our start and his placement as Staff.

This baggage had a lot to do with "warring" over truck brands as he has been Pro GM and Anti for the best part any other brand. To him it was "all in good fun " and he laughed about it,so he said.

Well he jumped ship and bought a Dodge and all the baggage is coming back for the haunt once again and now it isn't fun anymore all of a sudden.

My assumption as he wanted us once again to clean up the "trash" I guess once again.

Well I'm tired of taking out the garbage for someone who makes a mess on his own countinually.I know it is tough for some of you to see ,as you know nothing but what you have seen here, written on these pages,*perhaps. It only tells a very small portion of the story.

Good luck to him and his endeavors.

Here is a little history

"

By October 1993, the Company completed a successful initial public offering of common stock to become a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the stock symbol "DDC".

In October, 2000, DaimlerChrysler AG completed a “Tender Offer” for all of the outstanding shares of DDC, including the 48.6% ownership interest of Penske Corporation. Following the acquisition, DaimlerChrysler combined various engine and other powertrain component activities (including DDC, MTU-Friedrichshafen and Mercedes-Benz industrial engines) in the Commercial Vehicle Division under a new business unit named DaimlerChrysler Powersystems, an organization with over 34,000 employees and combined revenues of approximately $7 billion.

Detroit Diesel Corporation, headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, is engaged in the design, manufacture, sale and service of heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel engines, automotive diesel engines and engine-related products. The company offers a complete line of engines from 22 to 10,000 horsepower for the on-highway, off-road and automotive markets and is a QS-9000 certified company. Detroit Diesel services these markets directly and through a worldwide network of more than 2,700 authorized distributor and dealer locations. Detroit Diesel is a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, the world’s leading manufacturer of heavy-duty diesel truck engines.

And you can find the listing here.

http://www.daimlerchrysler.com/dccom/0,,0-5-7163-1-73271-1-0-0-0-0-0-36-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0,00.html

And here is the Detroit Diesel web site.

So the Answer to you question would be October 2000

I hope this helps!

Thanks Mac..

To all....

I don't mind being busted on for owning a Dodge. Or for that matter... being proud of being a Dodge ownerhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif

I did a lot of bashing of Dodge and Ford in the past. I will still bash Dodge, Ford AND GM if need be. In fun and seriously. But my history.. as MAC stated.. tends to hang with me as "baggage" and sometimes it's real hard to shake off. Tough lesson.

I do get mad when certain individuals make it their life's work to badger me, here, non stop, and lie about me on other forums. More later.

BTW... truck is running great... death wobble is in check and has been since the first and only occurrance. I'm going to be getting a link end track bar to eliminate it in all conditions. After adding to the caster and letting some air out of the tires she's almost 100% stable at all speeds. The leveling kit played with the alignment and I lost a lot of caster.

Someone has been lying about me on another site..

Here is the post....

I read some more on this whole subject and there was about 15 PM's recieved. It seems he bought a DUDD,HMMMMM, Dodge and cant deal with the previous baggage.Plus I was told it is running like crap.He will not be much more forth comming , a little BIRDIE told me ,that the truck is running so bad he has commited to staying off the Interstate for now.He will not attempt running RT95 until the DW is cured.

It's all BS. Made up to piss me off I guess. The little BIRDIE I presume is me.... hoot. I never said or communicated anything of the sort. Just got back from a weekend of surf fishing 100 miles away, all highway... full speeds and no worries.

Now will the person that wrote this please stand up. From the same person I recieved one question PM as to why I was no longer around and ONE apologetic PM afterwords.

Am I a hypocrite.....? ABSAEFFENLOOTLY

I'm the only hypocrite in existance. Make an example of me.... tar.... feathers, but don't lie about me.

Hoot, I am glad you got your truck in check. I have not had any cases yet on a stock truck. I did have one with 315's and the same kind of leveling set-up you have in here for it the other day though. I highly recomended he put it back to stock, but I told him it was his truck and to do what he wants. We did some allignment work on it but I'm not sure what, I need to talk to the tech who did the work.

It wasn't me, no really, it wasn't!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Hoot knows that I say it on the forums as well as to his face. I had mine installed. They put it on the driver side and did not have to take my plastic off. I would post a pic but don't have a camera. If you look at your tire's highest point, find the shock mount and look behind it, you can see the manifold. That is where they installed mine, but everyone is different.
