When did it start doing this? After the modded CP3 install?

Might be the regulator.

does it do this with a stock tune in?
do you have a lift pump?
does you truck idle better or worse when you are in gear?
at what ECT is the worst idle?

and have you tried any b0755 or b0756 if you do adjust 0.5mm3 makes a big difference

but i would see first what a stock tune does to your idle

Use the scan tool to check you rail pressure at idle vs. commanded pressure. My regulator just bite the big one. Rail pressure at idle commanded was 4000psi actual was 10000psi. Throws a P0089 code at idle. Sounds like a 12v CTD at idle, lopes every once and a while.

Check you actual rail pressure.;) A lift pump can also this. If your feed pressure is to high it will cause lope , it can also cause bursting and other d*mn weird sh*t.
Beleive me I know:)
