Do you remember when they handed you the keys and said "it's yours"? You needed new shocks then.

Right after you drive it off the lot.... You will be impressed with the ride you achieve with new shocks...

I agree 100%... The factory shock are junk! Pretty much any aftermarket shock will yield you better performance. Edelbrocks, Bilsteins, Ranchos, etc...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Shocks are over rated I still have factory shocks on my 95. I changed the front ones and didn't notice any difference

Turfmower, I'm glad your factory shocks are still satisfactory on your 95. I THINK we're talking about Duramax trucks here, and in my experience and the experience of many others, the stock shocks suck. Plain and simple.

It is a shame but it seems true that the General has cut corners on this component. There are many great things about owning a Duramax, but stock shocks ain't one of them in my book. My Bilsteins are satisfactory to me.

Just MHO.

I added 3 leave to each side of my 03. I very much doubt that they do any thing when you loaded to the max 99% of the time.

Almost 40K still going strong on my DMAX...even with H2's.

It's possible that some few, sad, folks don't know what real shocks feel like.

Where is a good place to buy shocks? I am debating over Bilsteins and Ranchos. I think I am also going up to a 265 tire. I pull a Arctic Fox 33-5v with this truck.
