: LB7 Exhaust
yaafm 12-15-2006, 04:51 PM I am thinking about getting a whole system for my truck. I was thinking of going with Banks, but I want to hear everyones opinions of the best sound plus value for their trucks. I prefer duals, but if the price is to high, I will get a single pipe. The truck is an ECSB 4X4 if that matters at all. Thanks a lot.
HADAVETTE 12-15-2006, 05:47 PM I just straight piped mine before I went with my stacks. The sound for the money spent was awsome. You could get the 4in down pipe and run straight out the back for next to nothing! Oh yeah... welcome to the site!!
blizzardplowman 12-15-2006, 06:11 PM Got the 4" Bnaks on the 01, ok just driving around, pulling the trailer it gets old, has a major drone @ 65-68 mph. The MBRP on the 06 is alot better drone wise.

The Neens 12-15-2006, 07:27 PM I've installed 2 Silverline exhaust systems on '02 CC/LBs...Sound was good, but I do not recommend them...Both boxes had the same part #, but contents were different...The tailpipe exit looks terrible...The Banks system on my '05 fits perfect...Pretty mellow sound on the Banks...
Unit453 12-15-2006, 07:34 PM What did their tail pipe exit look like?
Shakes 12-15-2006, 07:47 PM There's a muffler shop in Michigan that will do a 4" down-pipe all the way back with silver line muffler, for $600 out the door (that was 2 years ago), all stainless. Guy has a 4" bender and does awesome work.
Called Muffler And Go, in Fenton, Mi. He has a GMC with a 5" dual, looks fricken sweet!!! And sounds great!!
The Neens 12-15-2006, 08:10 PM What did their tail pipe exit look like?
It was way too low for my liking...I tried different clamp/hanger combinations that were included, but nothing worked for me...Some minor cutting and welding should fix it when the trucks come back...I just like the way the Banks system tucks up nice and tight...
Unit453 12-15-2006, 08:14 PM I like the Magnaflow style tail pipe personally.
I'm about to order an MBRP system but I wonder if I can heat up the tubing and bend it a bit to better my liking....
The Neens 12-15-2006, 08:38 PM Let us know what you think about the MBRP...That'll be my next purchase...
Unit453 12-15-2006, 08:40 PM Well, I had it on my 04 and the drone wasnt half as bad as Magnaflow's system. I switched mufflers after about 40,000 miles to an MBRP. The turbo was louder too. I was very happy with it.
I like the MBRP sound. I'm just not fond of the tail pipe.
LWATSON 12-15-2006, 09:39 PM I had a banks monster exhaust with the stock front pipe on my 03 it didn't drone much. I think they had just reworked the mufflers when I bought mine, a friend had an older modle on an 01 the pipe seemed not as thick as mine and It droned allot more.
kctay 12-16-2006, 12:58 PM We install these systems daily at my exhaust shops, if we have a drone problem, we install the Magnaflow, MBRP is clearly louder.
If you want dual 4-inch tailpipes, we use Flo-Pro since it has a "true" dual outlet muffler, unlike MBRP's phony "Y" connector.
You want to hear nice sound with a real 4-inch dual outlet muffler? Go to www.flopro.com (http://www.flopro.com) and see the intro video.
I run this system on my 2007 Duramax dualy crew cab, and have tried many other systems.
